"Einārs Repše" or "Einars Repše"?

labot šo sadaļu

The English Wikipedia currently lists this Latvian politician under Einārs Repše. The Latvian edition however uses Einars Repše, without the macron. Google shows both spellings used on .lv sites. Which one is correct? (And why the disagreement?)

Article request: Interstate Aviation Committee

labot šo sadaļu

I would like to request a Latvian stub on the en:Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).

Now Vikipēdija:Tulkošanas vadlīnijas says:

  • "Begging other users to translate for you is also strongly discouraged as this is likely to result in creating of stub on topic that is of no interest to target audience of Latvian Wikipedia, as such will never be improved and would never have been created, if it wasn't for the request."

But I have a case for this particular topic. Latvia used to be an observer state of the IAC, so there should be a sufficient interest from people who speak the Latvian language. Thank you, WhisperToMe 22:20, 24 oktobrī, 2011 (UTC)

Kategorija:Somu mūziķi / Kategorija:Somijas mūziķi

Could someone explain the difference between those two categories? Or is the other one just a duplicate? I tried Google Translate but it translates them both as "Category:Finnish musicians". 91.155.210.216 16:50, 10 janvārī, 2013 (UTC)

Wikimedia Polska scholarships for Wikimania 2013

labot šo sadaļu

Hello! On behalf of Wikimedia Polska (WMPL), Wikimedia's local chapter in Poland, I would like to invite those active editors of this project, who wish to take part in Wikimania 2013 in Hongkong (August 7-11), to apply for WMPL's scholarship. It is WMPL's annual tradition that we fund scholarships for Wikimania not only for Polish editors, but also for a group of Wikimedians from other former Eastern Bloc states. The scholarship covers air travel, accomodation, insurance and conference fee. If you would like to learn more or ask any questions, please visit this site. Hope to see you there! Ten years of Wikipedia in Asturian language

labot šo sadaļu

Excuse me for not speaking Latvian yet.

Oviedo, September 8, 2014

Asturian is alive and in use.

Next September 12 and 13, the Asturian Wikipedia community of users will celebrate with the support of Wikimedia España Chapter the tenth anniversary of Uiquipedia, the free encyclopedia in Asturian. The events will take place in Auditorio Príncipe Felipe (Plaza La Gesta, Oviedo).

The first article in Asturian was «Zazaki», a minority language spoken in Turkey. That first edit was in July 26, 2004. Ten years later, more than 800 000 edits have been made on almost 20 000 articles, and numbers are growing every day with the work of tens of volunteers. And it doesn’t stop there: other Wikimedia projects in Asturian have developed, such as Wikicionary, Wikisource and Wikiquote. Managed by Wikimedia Foundation, all of them make part of a global movement that started in 2001 when Wikipedia started with the goal of delivering freely all human knowledge.

To commemorate this date, Uiquipedia and Wikimedia España are carrying out two days of celebration events so that the projects in Asturian are better known. Literature, poetry music and traditions in Asturian will be present. It’s free and everybody is welcome. In addition, Wikimedia España will have its annual General Assembly in Oviedo.

See here the schedule of activities.

most-perfect magic square from
the Parshvanath Jain temple in Khajuraho

Hi! Some years ago (in 2008) I received a picture about a most-perfect magic square from the Parshvanath Jain temple in Khajuraho named Chautisa Yantra. According to magic square#India Magic Squares and Cubes By William Symes Andrews, 1908, Open court publish company the square is more then thousand years old / from the 10th-century. There is an additional text above the square. done I hope to receive a translation and/or additional details about this text from contributors on languages from India.
testwiki:most-perfect magic square provides transliterations for a dozen of ISO 15924 scripts as Arab, Armn, Armi, Beng, Cyrl, Cyrs, Deva, Grek, Gujr, Guru, Hani, Hans, Hant, Hebr, Jpan, Knda, Kore, Latn (including Roman numerals and binary), Lepc, Maya, Mlym, Mymr, Phnxl, Orya, Runr, Sinh, Syrc, ‎Syre, ‎Syrj, ‎Syrn, Taml, Telu, Tibt, Xsux and maybe some more. The wiki source code can be used for articles / stubs in languages using these scripts. Fonts are not optimized and all comments are welcome at the test subdomain page at testwiki:most-perfect magic square. Thanks for all your efforts in advance! lɛʁi ʁɑjnhɑʁt (Leri Reinhart)

labot šo sadaļu

- Kareyac (diskusija) 2020. gada 19. februāris, plkst. 11.31 (EET)Atbildēt

15.59 (EET)Atbildēt
--ScAvenger (diskusija) 2020. gada 19. februāris, plkst. 17.16 (EET)Atbildēt
- Kareyac (diskusija) 2020. gada 19. februāris, plkst. 18.16 (EET)Atbildēt
- Kareyac (diskusija) 2020. gada 20. februāris, plkst. 20.49 (EET)Atbildēt
02.39 (EET)Atbildēt
