Objekta vēsture
Deutsch: Aus dem Jahr 1374 ist der Abdruck eines Siegels überliefert, der aus der Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts stammt. Im gespaltenen Schild stehen Löwe und Bischofsstab, ebenso in einem kleineren Siegel aus dem frühen 15. Jahrhundert. In einem Siegel von 1671 fällt die Spaltung weg, Löwe und Bischofsstab stehen gemeinsam im Schild. Im 19. Jahrhundert wird der Löwe als Greif fehl gedeutet. Der Löwe ist einer der drei Löwen aus dem englischen Königswappen, das man im Spätmittelalter für das Wappen des heiligen Willibald hielt; es wurde vom Domkapitel Eichstätt geführt. Willibald, ein angelsächsischer Mönch, der 787 gestorben ist, war der erste Bischof von Eichstätt. Ornbau gehörte bereits 1229 zum Bistum Eichstätt, erhielt 1317 Stadtrecht und war Mittelpunkt des Oberamtes Arberg, das 1803 im Zuge der Säkularisation an Bayern kam. Der Stab ist dem Wappen des Hochstifts von Eichstätt entnommen.
