Objekta vēsture
Deutsch: Die Hansestadt Breckerfeld führt ein Wappen, das ihr durch Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten in Arnsberg vom 20. März 1979 verliehen worden ist. Das Wappen ist abgeleitet von einem Siegel von 1508. Es wurde in dieser Form bereits am 16. Dezember 1909 genehmigt und bis 1970 geführt. Der Schachbalken bezieht sich auf die Grafen von der Mark, die Bedeutung der Lilie ist nicht geklärt. Vermutlich wurde sie als Beizeichen gewählt, um das Wappen von dem der Grafen zu unterscheiden.
English: The arms were officially granted on Dezember 16, 1909 and confirmed on March 20, 1979. The arms based on seal of 1508. The fess chequy is derived from the arms of the County of Mark. The meaning of the fleur-de-lis is not mentioned, but probably a symbol to distinguish it from the arms of the counts.
