Sākotnējais fails(1 000 × 525 pikseļi, faila izmērs: 11 KB, MIME tips: image/gif)

This text image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Ashkelon - jsqAr(w)ny.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

Kopsavilkums

Apraksts Merenptah Stele (Israel Stele): the name Ashqelon written in hieroglyphs as it appears on the stele (mirror view) in line 27 (context: Ashkelon is conquered, Gezer seized). Transliteration: j-s-q-A-r(w)-n-y (reed-folded cloth-slope of hill-Egyptian vulture-lion-ripple of water-two strokes) plus determinatives: enemy-foreign land (throwing stick-three hills). Egyptians did not differentiate 'R' from 'L'.
Note, in WikiHeiro the text should be written as such: <hiero>i-s-q-A-rw:n:y-T14:N25</hiero>
